Below, Jaimie shares what's bringing her joy, comfort or pleasure right now.
1. Heilbron Herbs Face Oil
Lucious and green in color and scent, my skin really enjoys this oil. I use it in the mornings after toning with Marie Veronique's Balancing HypoTonic. I especially like that it uses whole plant extracts from plants like calming calendula and marshmallow. When I opened the bottle for the first time, I gasped at how vegetal it smelled.
2.
Corning Museum of Glass
I suggest skipping right to the “
35 Centuries of Glass” part of the museum. You could quite literally spend hours here. This is one of the most beautiful and extensive collections I’ve seen.
3.
Summer Solace Souchong Debut
Perfumed tallow and beeswax candle from the lovely Megan of Summer Solace. She is a scent genius. Slightly smoky, scents of black tea, vetiver and crushed terra cotta pots. A clean burn.
4. Sweet Annie
Sari asked me to share a plant that has 'captured' me lately. If I really think about it, the last plant to get me so overly excited was Sweet Annie in September. I discovered Sweet Annie from
Horsetail Herb Farm when she was making wreaths and crowns
and bundles from it at the Farmer's Market. I brought a bundle home and my very tiny studio apartment was full of its unique aroma and it was magnificent.
5.
Flip Flops
I got a pair of
Sleepers last Summer and continue to wear them a lot. I love the square toe. Nu Swim recently came out with
a pair and I am seriously eyeing them. Need to decide on color.

19th Century Early Workman’s Beds
I recently closed on a house and am very into furnishing right now. Last Summer I found this antique shop operating on a working vineyard off Seneca Lake (it’s really a husband & wife selling antiques out of three barns behind their home on a vineyard). This is where I found the early workman’s bed which I will be using as a daybed. I bookmarked
Atherien for inspiration.
8.
Jun Spritzes
I can already tell this will be the Summer of jun spritzes. I get jun from a very small business near me, Ephemeral Elixirs. I’ve gotten two bottles so far, the first Blue Spruce / Lemon Verbena and the second, Holy Basil / Blackberry. Just add sparkling water.
9. Dano’s Heuriger on Seneca
“Lakeside Viennese bistro serves Austrian small plates.” This is where I go when I am craving my Grandma’s Hungarian food. I still love hers more, but this satisfies the craving. Try
Café Sabarsky if you’re in NYC, also great and you can visit Neue Galerie while you're there.
Agi’s Counter is also on my list.
10.
Lauren Manoogian
My favorite designer. Everything is there for me- color, texture, material, sculptural shapes, the smell (yes, the smell of opening up a box of her knits).
This article was nice to read.
11.
Natural Perfumery
I’m getting even more into personal natural perfume oils. I’ve always been really into scent and how it wears on the body, but now I want to know everything about the history of perfume, like how certain materials were used ceremoniously etc.
12.
LESSE Calming Cleanser
I know that there are die hard oil cleansing fans out there, but this method did not work for me. I prefer this texture. My skin actually feels more calm since using this. I think it’s the Heilbron Face Oil too.
13.
Village Tea
I have been drinking my own herbal infusions for years. I always use nettle as a base and will add whatever else is speaking to me at the time. I think I was taking too many trips to the coop for herbs (I guess I wasn’t buying enough each time) so I am very glad to have discovered this big bag of Village Tea. I love drinking my minerals.
