FAQ

Why doesn’t this deodorant spray contain aluminum, baking soda, or salt?

Despite being a common ingredient in most drugstore antiperspirant deodorants, aluminum’s toxicity and effects on our bodies have been questioned for many years. Synthetic fragrances, parabens, and phthalates, too, are all known endocrine disruptors, and let’s just say our hormones are not worth disrupting.

Baking soda and salt, while also common in “natural” deodorants, can irritate sensitive underarm skin.

For these reasons, we formulated our proprietary deodorant spray with deodorant alternatives—ingredients that have been used traditionally for many years to help reduce body odor. We believe that a well-balanced combination of aloe vera, organic alcohol, and just a hint of ethically sourced essential oils make the ideal base for the best natural deodorant for sensitive skin.

Is this a good deodorant alternative for sensitive skin?

Yes! Because we formulate our deodorant with aloe vera and the purest ingredients (without any harsh chemicals), this is a great deodorant for sensitive skin. It contains no artificial fragrance or scents, which can also irritate sensitive skin.

However, because some with highly sensitive skin will react briefly to certain essential oils, you may consider performing a patch test before using the deodorant to ensure there is no sensitivity or allergic reaction to the ingredients. Patch testing involves applying a small amount of the product to an isolated area and waiting to see how your skin reacts before applying the product to both arm pits.

Is your deodorant safe for kids and teens?

Yes, the Rose Geranium Deodorant is made with safe and natural ingredients such as organic alcohol, organic aloe vera juice, and mild essential oils, making it the best deodorant for kids and teens - of course, to use with adult guidance!

Why should I switch to natural deodorant? What are the pros and cons?

Switching to natural deodorant can offer several benefits, including:

+Reduced Exposure to Chemicals: Traditional deodorant sticks often contain chemicals like aluminum, parabens, and phthalates, which some studies suggest may have adverse health effects. Natural deodorants use ingredients that are generally trusted and considered safer for long-term use.
+Skin Health: Many natural deodorants are formulated to be gentler on the skin, reducing the risk of irritation and allergic reactions.
+Transparency in Ingredients: Natural deodorants like ours have ingredient lists you can read and understand, making it easier to understand what you're applying to your skin. This can be particularly beneficial for those with sensitivities or allergies! Further, our deodorant is made in small batches by our herbalist in Western North Carolina for quality.
+Environmental Impact: We package our natural deodorant in a reusable, recyclable glass spray bottle, and the deodorant is formulated using sustainably sourced ingredients.
+Odor Control Without Blocking Sweat: Unlike antiperspirant sticks that block sweat glands, natural deodorants allow your body to sweat naturally while neutralizing odor. Sweating is a natural detoxification process that helps regulate body temperature and remove toxins.

It is important to understand that most natural deodorants are not anti-perspirants, meaning that they do not stop you from sweating—they simply neutralize odor-causing bacteria!
